Reading-Builders Tutoring Program

Recognizing that reading skills are critical for students during their elementary school years, the School of Education sponsors this tutoring program for approximately 60 children each academic year. It provides
weekly diagnostic and remedial help and individualized services under the supervision of graduate students in
the Teaching Literacy program at the Learning Center for Educators & Families. (For location, see above.)

For information, contactCharlotte Marchant, LCEF director, at (718) 246-6496 or charlotte.marchant@liu.edu. Reading-Builders is offered for a nominal fee to children with reading difficulties in grades 2 through 6. (Some spaces for seventh and eighth graders may be available.)
