How can I clear my bill?
Although payment is due at the beginning of each semester, students who can pay for at least half of their entire bill can defer the second half over the course of the semester. A $15.00 deferment charge is added and the balance is then divided into three payments. Payments can be made with the financial aid, checks, money orders, VISA, MasterCard and Discover Card. All clearances and payments are made at the Bursar’s Office located in Room M-311.
When should I clear my bill?
Students are expected to clear their bills before the start of classes. In the event that a student fails to do so, late fees will be assessed. Students who have not cleared their bills by the due date on the bill will be obliged to pay a late fee of $25.00. Bills not cleared by the mid-point of the semester will be assessed an additional late fee of $50.00.
How and where do I get my ID card?
Once students clear their bills, ID cards may be obtained the next day from Office Services, located in Room M-413. Continuing students’ ID cards are updated the day after bill clearance.
I’ve cleared my bill, when do I get my refund?For new freshman/transfer students, refunds that are expected from student loans will not disbursed until one month after classes have begun. Continuing students will receive refunds as soon as their financial aid is applied to their accounts. Refunds need not be requested because they will be issued automatically. Are fees mandatory and what do they cover?
Fees are mandatory. The University Fee is a general fee imposed to defray total University expenditures, including administrative and registration costs. The Student Activity Fee is designed to help support the various student organizations and activities on campus. The Group Student Accident Coverage Insurance Fee defrays up to $1,000 of unreimbursed medical costs relating to the accidents that occur either on campus or off campus at a University sponsored event.
What is the Dining Club Fee and how does it work?
The fee entitles students to purchase food and beverages, tax free, from any one of the cafeterias or the coffee bar, using their validated ID cards.
How do I withdraw from a course or from the Brooklyn Campus?
Students should refer to the University Bulletin for instructions and refund schedules. The last date to withdraw is published in the Schedule of Classes.
Cancellation prior to the beginning of the semester or session:
*Complete refund except for deposit and applicable registration fee of $15.00
*Once classes have begun, tuition is cancelled according to the following schedule:
1st Week = 90%
2nd Week = 75%
3rd Week = 50%
4th Week = 25%
After 4th Week = 0% (no refund)
What is the tuition cost?
Currently tuition is $729.00 per credit plus applicable university fees.
What scholarships are available?
Aside from government grants like TAP and PELL, there are many scholarships available to eligible students. The Admissions Office automatically considers new applicants for one of four available scholarships. Applicants must meet a minimum of an 86 high school average for consideration.
