Educational Outreach: Cooperative Education Placements and Internship

Cooperative Education Placements and Internships offer students the opportunity to make valuable contributions to local private employers and community agencies, while gaining significant professional experience to complement academic learning.

Through these initiatives, employers are provided with highly motivated and competent junior staff, involved in the educational and professional training of students, ensured of a constant flow of new talent and ideas into the workplace, afforded an opportunity to accomplish short-term or special projects, and supplied with an excellent source of pre-trained, permanent employees. Additionally, the employer's image is enhanced on campus and in the community.

At the same time, Cooperative Education Placements and Internships allow students to apply academic theory to practical work experience, assess career interests and identify specific job opportunities, establish contacts in a career field, gain confidence working in a professional environment, identify personal values, interests, and skills, and earn money to help finance their college education.

Students participate in Cooperative Education Placements and Internships each semester, including summer.
