The Intensive Teacher Institute for Bilingual/ESL Teachers (ITI-BE), sponsored by the School of Education at the Brooklyn Campus, works in collaboration with the New York State Education Department and the New York City Board of Education to identify bilingual and ESL teachers who need certification or the bilingual extension.

Appropriate courses are offered in order to assist these teachers in becoming credentialed bilingual teachers and teachers of ESL. The program, currently in its second year, has a flexible enrollment which is determined by its participants' needs.This program helps to meet the state-wide need for teachers in these two categories.
