| Take
a course from the comfort of home using your PC and modem.
The School of Continuing
Studies offers selected courses on-line that you can take from the
convenience of your home or office. All you need is a PC or Mac
with a modem and the desire to learn. You do not need sophisticated
computing skills --- if you know how to send e-mail and access an
internet service provider such as America Online you have the necessary
skills.
How does it work? Each
week during the course, your instructor will post "lectures,"
assignments, readings, and links to related World Wide Web sites.
You may access course materials at any time (24 hours per day),
ask your instructor questions, join in discussion with classmates,
or research course topics on the Web. You will learn the same information
that is taught in courses at the Brooklyn Campus.
Technical
Requirements
Any IBM-compatible PC or Macintosh computer plus a modem (recommended
28.8 bps or faster) and an internet connection such as America Online
or a local service provider (often called ISPs).
