REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS
Complete the Registration Form (Acrobat
PDF) when registering for a course that is not part of a certificate
program or when registering for certificate courses beyond the first
semester.
Two easy steps...
- Select the course(s) and course sections you want. Some courses
are offered at several different times (called "sections").
Register for one section only.Complete a registration form (unless
registering by phone).Payment may be by check (to "Long Island University"),
money order or credit card --- MasterCard, VISA or Discover. Cash
cannot be accepted.
- Submit your registration form by mail, fax, in person, or call
(718) 488-1364 to register by phone.
Please register early;
some classes fill quickly. All registrations should be received at least two (2) days before the class begins.

The Continuing Studies office is located on the second floor of
9 Hanover Place, between the Fulton Mall and Livingston Street. Hours: Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-6:30 p.m.; Friday, 9:00
a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Please submit a completed registration
form with your payment.
A registration
receipt will be mailed to you.
Unlike most other
colleges, Long Island University charges no registration fees for
Continuing Studies courses.
Registration for Credit
Courses
Please consult the university catalogue for the proper registration procedures
for specific credit programs.
Late Registration
Late registration
is only accepted if the prospective student has missed no more than
one scheduled class.
Cancellation of Courses
Long Island University reserves the right to cancel courses. If
a course is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, tuition will
be refunded by mail.
Withdrawal and Refund
Policy
Please request an official withdrawal form from the School of Continuing
Studies. Refunds cannot be issued unless this completed form is
submitted to the School of Continuing Studies.
Tuition will be refunded
according to the following schedule:
- Official withdrawal prior to start of the first class session
--- Full refund.
- During Week 1
--- 90% of tuition.
- During Week 2
--- 75% of tuition.
- During Week 3
--- 50% of tuition.
- During Week 4
--- 25% of tuition.
- After Week 4 --- No refund.
If
a course is cancelled, your money will be refunded automatically;
no withdrawal form is needed.
Rules
and Regulations for Registration
- Students will be charged a penalty fee of $25.00 for bounced checks and declined credit cards.
- Students whose checks and/or credit cards decline have seven
(7) business days upon receipt of notice to pay their accounts
or they will be withdrawn from their class(es).
- Students who register for a course after it has started will
be charged a late fee of $25.00.
- Students will be charged $3.00 for transcripts.
- Students will be charged $15.00 for replacement certificates.
