Alumni who have graduated more than one year ago, may take advantage of the ReadyMinds distance career counseling program.

  • ReadyMinds provides telecounseling and online interaction on a variety
of career–related issues by a career counselor. Some of the services
that are provided include self-assessment, career exploration, goal
clarification, and how to market your professional experience through
resumes and cover letter. Alumni can also benefit from a myriad of
resources that help them navigate through the job search process.

Advantages of Distance Counseling
It’s convenient. We can schedule a time that works for you: in the evening, after work, after the kids go to bed, during the day or on the weekend. The sessions occur over the phone, which means you don’t have to travel to the LIU campus to meet with the Distance Counselor. After the first session you will receive a written summary of the session which includes useful resources and suggestions. You will also have access to your personal page on the secure Readyminds website, where the counselor will post information tailored to your individual needs and goals, for a six month period.

Here’s how to register: Go to www.readyminds.com/liu.asp. You will complete a registration form and you will be contacted by your counselor.

For additional information you can call the Office of Career Services at 718-488-1039.
