In addition to
our support for students in writing or writing-intensive
courses, we are also available to support faculty with
the teaching of writing. Aside from reference materials,
the Writing Center can help a faculty member workshop
or think over writing assignments and essay exams. We
also offer support for providing students with effective
feedback, assessment, and networking to tutoring services.
During the semester, we hold workshops for faculty and
staff members interested in working on specific kinds
of writing concerns (for example, the teaching of argument,
the uses of punctuation, sentence clarity, and numerous
grammatical concepts).
For specific
requests, contact Patricia
Stephens at (718) 488-1096 or Allia Matta at (718)
488-1116.
During the Fall
2002 semester, a Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) program
will begin at the Brooklyn Campus. The WAC Director
will also support faculty with writing issues in courses
outside of the Writing Program.
