The
Avena Lounge
|
|
 The
Avena Lounge, located in the lower level of the Great Hall,
is an informal setting with lounge chairs and a bar. The lounge
is student-operated, serves snacks and drinks, and is open
from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Mondays through Thursday, and 10
a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays. The Avena TV has cable channels,
and videos are shown on specific days. There is also a game
room with the latest video games and a new pool table. The
lounge is also used for parties, concerts, plays and other
social functions. It is quiet enough for studying, and als
has an area specifically suited for group study.
In
the evening there is more a winding-down atmosphere when the
bar opens at 5 p.m. Remember you must be at least 21 years old
to drink! The lounge staff also organizes functions such as,
pool, table tennis and domino tournaments along with comedy
nights,amateur nights, and the dating game. Board games are
always available.The Avena Lounge provides work-study and part-time
jobs for Brooklyn Campus students and also generates income
through rental to outside organizations. For more information,
