WEEK 1
L.I.U.’s Evening Intramurals Nothing But Net Basketball
League is back for its fifth season. This semester four teams
are participating
in the league. Each team will play a total of six games round
robin style and the single elimination playoffs.
Strait Bucketzz 32 vs. Lights Out 31
The first game of the season featured Lights Out and Strait Bucketzz.
This was a good game from start to finish. Both teams traded
basket from the beginning of the game. Ren, Strait Bucketzz’s
point guard ran the show. Bucketzz’s managed to take early
lead. Lights Out missed couple of free throws, however, managed
to come back in the game. Rudolph’s 2 points on buzzer
gave lights out 1 point lead at the end of the first half (19-18).
During the second half, lights out made some silly mistakes gave
Strait Bucketzz the opportunity to take the lead. Last 20 seconds
of the game was full of climax. Lights out had the opportunity
to take the game to overtime, however Joe’s buzzer beater
3 pointers only managed to cut the deficit by 1 point. Ren scored
game high 13 points for the winning side.
The Hustlers 41 vs. Top Shottas 24
The Hustlers faced Top Shottas in the next game. As a team Top
Shottas looked much disorganized. They need to work hard if they
want to win games in coming weeks. titlehough the first half of
the game was competitive and Hustlers had a lead of 4 points
(15- 11) over Top Shottas, however in the second half it turned
into a one sided game. Shamark worked hard for Top Shottas but
there was no one to give him support. Kevin Julien and Mario
scored 14 and 10 points respectively for the winning side.
