WEEK ONE
S.I.N.Y 34 vs. CROSS A FELLA 24
Victor Flores scored eight of his game high twelve points in the first half along with four apiece from Rich Henry and Peter Clairvil and S.I.N.Y jumped out to a lead and never looked back. Cross A Fella was led by Charles Hook with six points and Marlon Zorton with five, their only two players to get on the board. At the half the score was 22 – 11.
The second half continued like the first with Flores and Santos Collazo netting four points apiece. Antoine Bryan added six and Marlon Zorton seven points in a losing effort for Cross A Fella. S.I.N.Y does look like a playoff contender.
#1 18 vs. GET OFF ME 17
This was a very close fought game, it could have been a different result had Get Off Me had a big man in the center. They also missed too many of their free throws. The first half was very defensive with #1 leading 9 – 6 at the half. Leading scorer for #1 was Dwight McPheil with three points while Tahir Khan led Get Off Me with two points.
In the second half Get Off Me got off to a 5-0 run to take the lead for a short period, #1 picked back up on their defense and tied the game there were three lead changes in the half. Dwight McPheil lead all scorers with seven points, Jason Green netted five in a loosing effort.
TEAM SMOOTH 42 vs. BK FINEST 23
Team Smooth formerly Good Money has been together the longest in the league and they played like it tonight. With two of last season’s leading scorers Team Smooth pulled away for an easy 23 – 7 lead at the half. With Tyrone McCleese leading with eight while Aaron Lewis and Shamark Limehouse netted five a piece. Paul Foster had three points for BK Finest.
The second half BK finest got more of their game together but Team Smooth was just too experienced for them and came back with a run of their own every time BK Finest had one. It was never a close game. Tyrone McCleese lead all scores with fourteen, Kent Ellis had eleven, nine of them coming in the second half. Leading scorers for BK Finest was Ramel Gonzalez with twelve, ten of them in the second half.
THA DYNASTY 27 vs. BROOKLYN RUNNING REBELS 18
This was a close game at the beginning but by mid first half Tha Dynasty started pulling away. Even with Brooklyn Running Rebels twin towers in the middle Tha Dynasty changed their game plan and settled for the jumper. At the half the score was 14 – 7 in favor of Tha Dynasty, Samson Rich leading all scorers with eight points. Gary Lewis had five for the Rebels.
The second half Skylar Laguerre was the hot hand netting all 10 of his game high points. Lewis added six more points in the second half for a team high eleven. Laguerre and Rich both had team high ten points in the victory.
