Evening
Intramurals kicked off its spring 2003 indoor soccer tournament
late due to scheduling conflicts. There were six teams, four less

robin style on the first night with the top four teams advancing
to the playoff round single game elimination the second night.
The first game of the night featured Vasco (1) vs. Ball
Players (0). They took a few minutes before the tempo got going,
at the half the teams were still tied at (0-0) both missing great
opportunities. Vasco capitalized early in the second half when Sherwin
Joseph found the back of the net. Vasco then turned up their defense
with Kenny "Controller" Second, tournament MVP, anchoring
the last stopper position.
The second game Blackbirds (2) defeated Atlas Lions (1).
The showed their experience of playing together knocking the ball
well, the

the second half they secured they game when Kristoffer Engdahl scored
to go two up. The lion kept roaring and pulled one back via Zakaria
Rhfiri but time was against them.

fourth game, first in the second round of the night Vasco (1)
upset Blackbirds (0) it was the most competitive game of the
night there weren't too many opportunities to score, both teams
passed , attacked and defended great. Vasco went ahead late in the
second half via an Anders Khan goal and once again "Controller"
controlled the defense made it seem like the "Great Wall of
China".
The fifth game Plaza Boys (2) beat Ball Players (1). Plaza
Boys rebounded from the lost to Baseline and came out attacking
knowing that a loss would eliminate them from advancing to the playoff
round. They went ahead thanks to Shurland Parris in the first half.
Early in the second half Blacks equalized for Ball Players but it
took Kevin Jeffery four minutes to score the go ahead goal and seal
the victory for
the boys.
