3/15/05 -- Sophomore Amy Rizzo (Jackson, N.J.) scored twice and freshman Xiomara Garcia (Pottstown, Pa.) added one for Long Island in an 18-3 setback at the University of California in Berkeley, Calif.

Garcia scored off a pass from sophomore Kayleigh Graves (Orlando, Fla.) with 15:31 remaining in the first half and Rizzo added an unassisted goal 31 seconds later to cut the deficit for LIU to 6-2. Rizzo, the reigning Northeast Conference Player of the Week, netted her team-leading ninth goal of the season 3 1/2 minutes into the second half.

Garcia and freshman Alexis Riley (Manassas, Va.) finished with three ground balls apiece for the Blackbirds (1-2). Senior Patricia Parker (Long Branch, N.J.) made nine saves.

LIU closes its west coast trip Wednesday against UC Davis, beginning at 6:00 pm Eastern Time.
