Men's Basketball Drops Tough One to Southern Methodist, 74-62

11/29/05 -- Junior guard James Williams (DeSoto, Texas) led four Blackbirds in double-figures with 19 points but it wasn't enough as Southern Methodist downed LIU, 74-62, at Moody Coliseum on Tuesday evening.

Sophomores Randy Jones (West Palm Beach, Fla.) and Kellen Allen (Mansfield, Texas) each added 12 points while senior Aubin Scott (Hempstead, N.Y.) recorded his first double-double of the season with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

After a 16-2 run by the Blackbirds (0-3) knotted the game at 40-40, the Mustangs went on a 15-5 run of their own to take a double-digit advantage with 6:50 remaining in the game.

Freshman Brian Morris led SMU with 16 points, including 10-for-10 from the foul line. Devon Pearson added 14 points and 14 boards.
