Derek Bell Signs With Brooklyn Kings of USBL

4/26/05 -- Derek Bell (Brooklyn, N.Y.), coming off his senior season for Long Island, has signed with the Brooklyn Kings of the United States Basketball League and will make his professional debut tonight at Schwartz Center.

The Kings entertain the Westchester Wildfire, beginning at 7:00 pm on the same court which he excelled four years as a Blackbird.

Bell had a standout senior season in which he closed third on the team with 8.4 points per game and was fourth in the Northeast Conference with a .586 field-goal percentage.

He also finished 12th in the league with 0.68 blocks per game and 13th with 1.93 offensive rebounds per contest. Bell ended third on the team with 4.5 rebounds per game.
