Men's Soccer Drops 3-0 Decision to San Diego

9/15/06 -- Long Island University was blanked, 3-0, by San Diego at Torero Stadium in San Diego, Calif. on Friday evening in collegiate men's soccer action.

San Diego opened the scoring just 6:05 into the contest, as a header by Ryan Guy beat junior goalkeeper Alex Fatovic (Falls Church, Va.) for his third goal of the season.

In the 26th minute, Ciaran O'Brien assisted on his second goal of the game, this time finding Dustin Guerrero to give the Toreros a 2-0 lead. Adam Marian tallied his first goal of the season in the 41st minute for the final score of the match.

Senior Szymon Hryszczyk (Warsaw, Poland) tallied two shots for the Blackbirds, who were outshot 17-3 for the match and gave up nine corner kicks.

Long Island looks to rebound on the west coast as they take on San Diego State on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 5:30 p.m. EDT.
