The Cavaliers jumped out early on LIU on Sunday, netting the eventual game-winner just 3:49 into the contest on Adam Christman's third goal of the tournament. The Blackbirds held Virginia at bay until late in the match when Zane Hill netted a one-timer in the 83rd minute to give the Cavaliers a two-goal cushion.

Senior Ryszard Gorski made a game-high five saves in the loss.

LIU will return to action this weekend, hosting the FieldTurf/Courtyard by Marriott, LaGuardia tournament. Temple, Hofstra and Pittsburgh will participate in the two-day event on Friday, Sept. 10 and Sunday, Sept. 12.
