Day
7
Friday, May 26 we spent in Split, Croatia. Some of us woke up early
in the morning to enjoy the Croatian sun on the beach. Although
we were there for only two hours, some of our teammates got a little
too much sun and turned into lobsters :)
The Adriatic Sea,
with high, rocky-like mountains made a huge impression
on us. It is said- from locals and such -that
the most beautiful beaches are in Dubrovnik, so we are looking
forward
to go there
tonight.
Split not only has nice beaches but is also a beautiful old city
and seaport. After spending some time on the beach, we got chance
to see the ruins of the
city’s castle and eat lunch in one of the outdoor restaurants with a
gorgeous view of the sea.
After sightseeing, we got back to the hotel to pack our things again, have
some rest and get ready for our third game. Tonight we were playing one of
domestic
teams Splicanka. Again, “we took care of the business” meaning--
won the game and stayed undefeated on our European tour.
After the game, we tried some Croatian specialties for dinner and went on a
four hour ride to Dubrovnik. Although everyone is tired of riding a
bus for so many hours, we are all very exited to leave for our another stop
on our tour.
