Marquita Thompson is a junior forward from Garland, Texas. After
transferring from junior college a year ago, Thompson wasted no
time in making her presence felt in Brooklyn. She led the team
in rebounding at 5.9 per contest and contributed 12.1 points per
game, good for second on the squad.
Day 9
You think you know, but you have
no idea... Day 9 of our European tour. Well, today
starts off pretty slow
for me but the day picks
up as time passes.
12:30pm. Ania and I head down to the beach
so she can catch a tan and I can relax and enjoy the beautiful
scenery.
3:30pm. Lana, Polona and I head back to the Villa,
but first we had to walk up 213 stairs just to get from the beach
to the street that leads us back to our Villa. Boy was I tired!
Then, we had to walk about 5 minutes to get back to the Villa
and walk up about 150 stairs just to get to the front door of
the Villa. Man, everyone knows how lazy I am when it comes to
walking or running anywhere. LOL! I hate being out in the sun,
I think I am already dark enough and I’m not trying to
tan cause personally I don’t think I need one!!
5:45pm The team loads the bus
so we can head out to the seniors game against the Croatian
team. Our seniors (and coaches) played
a good game.
9:20pm The team decided to provide food and
beverages for our entire crew and parents. We gathered around
together
and had dinner in the teams Villa, where we were able to share
our thoughts of the trip and thank the people that made this
2006 European Tour possible.
1:01am The team is still up reminiscing
about the entire European tour.
3:15 am Still up reminiscing
about this trip as well as some old clips from this 2005-2006
Blackbird season.
I have had the craziest time
of my life here in Europe. I would like to thank Mr. Suarez,
Provost Haynes and all of the coaches.
Thank you for making this possible!!!
