Mikaelar Whippy is a
sophomore from Suva, Fiji. The 5-8 guard provided a spark
off the bench all season, ranking fourth on the squad in
scoring. She netted a career-best 22 points in the Blackbirds
68-63 upset win over NCAA Tournament participant Sacred
Heart this season.
Day
1
The travel day. Before we even got on the plane, we had to stay
in the airport for five hours, and then we had an eight hour flight.
The ride on the plane was one of the worst flights I have ever
taken due to the turbulence that hit in the middle of the night.
Once we reached Prague in the Czech Republic, we had a three hour
lay over before we took another plane ride that lasted around an
hour and a half. When we reached Venice, we had to drag our heavy
luggage at least a mile to our hotel, even taking a boat because
Venice is a city built on the water - there are no streets for
cars. Instead, boats and gondolas are the way to get from one side
to
another through the canals. But it was all worth it because we
are now in ITALY!!!
