The Long Island University women's tennis team kicked off its
spring season on Friday at Dartmouth and dropped a 7-0 decision.
Sophomore Ashley Harvey (Randallstown,
Md.) won five games over two sets but fell, 6-3, 6-2, to Kerry
Snow. The Big Green swept all six singles matches and won the
doubles portion, 3-0.
Freshman H'Ann Johnson (St. John's,
Antigua) and sophomore Liliana Cortes (Cochabamba, Bolivia)
each began their Blackbird careers on Friday, falling in straight
sets at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively.
Long Island has a three-week
break before returning to action on Fri., February 9 at Seton
Hall.
