Cover Art
Downtown Brooklyn: A Journal
of Writing (the literary magazine of the
Brooklyn Campus) is seeking submissions of artwork for possible
use as cover art. We
can only consider submissions from Brooklyn Campus students, faculty,
and staff; or from artists who have exhibited on campus.
We prefer realistic work with
an urban/Brooklyn theme, and images should translate well to our
8.5 x 11 (portrait) print format. In
order to get an idea of what types of work we look for, you may
reference back issues in our online archive,
or in the periodicals collection of Salena Library on the Brooklyn
Campus. Please submit
both slides and prints (or digital files on CD). In the past, the
editors have "collaborated" with the cover artist on ideas
(e.g., Issues #8, 11, and 12), and we would be interested in doing
so again, if you are so inclined.
Please
include your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address with
your submission, which should also be accompanied by a short biographical
note, in which you describe your affiliation with the Brooklyn Campus,
your professional work, and any recent publications or exhibitions
of your work. See the
"Biographical Notes" section of the latest issue for format.
If you are interested in submitting
work for consideration, contact the Editor, Wayne
Berninger.
