Is the acculturation of the children of immigrant families
into mainstream culture inevitable and irreversible?
Most studies of acculturation assume that it is. In his
presentation, Prof. Ali will counter this assumption by observing
a variety of patterns of assimilation among second generation
immigrants and will offer his own theory to account for these
patterns.
