An undergraduate
major in mathematics followed by graduate work in the same or related
areas prepares students for careers in many fields. A partial listing
of these fields includes business, banking, technical analysis of
markets, mathematical modeling, statistical research, insurance,
high technology, teaching at all levels from high school and up,
and theoretical research creating new mathematics. A student who
elects to minor in computer science will be well prepared for employment
in system design -both hardware and software - and data processing.
Our majors will
find a very supportive faculty who attempt to offer guidance and
challenge into creative work through problem solving, presentations
before our math club, and publication of its proceedings.
