The Brooklyn Campus of LIU offers
students one-on-one, personal guidance as they pursue a professional
career in medicine, osteopathy, dentistry, podiatry,
optometry, chiropractic or veterinary medicine.
This includes both academic advisement and all of
the help you need during the application process.
In order to take full advantage of the opportunity offered
by such advisement, students are encouraged to register
with the pre-professional committee as early as possible
in their academic careers. In addition, students must
maintian a high Grade Point Average and fulfill all of the
pre-professional science
requirements before the year in which they intend to
apply.

There are many requirements for accepatance into professional
schools. Students are strongly advised to consult the
appropriate sources of information
for whatever profession they may wish to pursue.
It is best to do this background research early in ones acedemic
career in order to avoid unpleasant surprises at a later date.
Once a student registers
with the pre-professional office, a file will be opened
for them. This file contains all of the faculty evaluations
and extracurricular interests of the student which will
be used to compile a composite
evaluation. We will send out up to 25 evaluations.
A charge shall be made for all applications beyond 25.
