Richard W. Matthes

Richard Matthes joined the faculty of Long Island University after a twenty- five year career as a clinician and administrator with the Department of Veterans Affairs. He has been active at the state and national levels, most recently serving as Chair of ASHA's Council on Professional Standards. In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, Dr. Matthes is the primary audiology supervisor for the Downtown Brooklyn Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic. His research interests include central auditory processing and its effect on classroom learning.
