195, 196 Honors Study/ Independent Studies
Honors Study is designed to give outstanding students an opportunity
to do independent work in their major under the guidance of a member of
faculty. There are no regular class meetings. To be eligible, students must
have upper junior of senior status, a cumulative quality-point ration of
3.00 and 3.25 in their major subject, and the permission of the Chair of
the Department and the Dean. A total six credits of Honors Study are the
maximum allowed. Three credits per semester.
Russian 200 Russian short stories and Novellas of
the XIXth century
Prerequisite:
Successful completion of Russian exemption exam or special permission
of the department.
This
course offers a study of the development and evolution of the XIXth century
Russian short story and its relationship to other literary genres. It
involves analysis of various texts and readings from Russian short stories
writers of the period. This course is conducted in Russian.
Russian 201 Russian short stories and Novellas of
the XXth century
