Areas of Expertise 
Modern European history, German history, Holocaust history, diplomatic history, contemporary history. 

Professor Warmund is a two-time recipient of the Fulbright-Hays Fellowship and was also awarded the D.A.A.D. (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst).  He was co-director of the Jackie Robinson Conference at LIU/Brooklyn in April 1997 and co-edited with Professor Dorinson the book, Jackie Robinson:  Race, Sports and the American Dream, published by M.E. Sharpe in 1998. More recently, Professor Warmund's research on the Holocaust Gray Zone has been presented at the Primo Levi conferences at Hofstra University (in 2002 and 2007), which have led to the publication of a chapter in a book entitled The Legacy of Primo Levi (Palgrave, 2005) and the inclusion of another chapter in another soon to be be released additional book.
