NEW YORK CITY TEACHING FELLOWS

Long Island University has worked successfully in collaboration with the New York City Teaching Fellows program and the New York City public schools since 2001 in the areas of Childhood Urban Education, Adolescent Urban Education and Teaching English as a Second Language as well as Teaching Children and Adolescents with Disabilities in Urban Contexts, and Students with Disabilities: Middle Childhood, a recently registered program.

Our experiences have allowed us to build a strong foundation.  At the present time we have 322 graduate students in the New York City Teaching Fellows program, of whom 111 are preparing to graduate in September, 2007.  In addition, 217 have already graduated.  In June, 2007, LIU accepted a new group of 85 New York City Teaching Fellows.
