Isabel D. Pascale received an Ed.D. from Fordham University in 1974 with a specialization in school leadership and curriculum supervision. She is a certified teacher, instructional administrator and school district administrator. After teaching at the elementary school level for seven years, she joined the Long Island University faculty in September 1968, was awarded tenure in 1974, and became a full professor in 1982. She has served the university through teaching, committee membership and administration. She was a division director and associate dean for the School of Education at the Brooklyn Campus and dean of education programs for the Regional Campuses.
In 1988, Pascale was identified by Project Innovation as an outstanding woman educator. In 1995, the New York State Education Department recognized her support, encouragement and understanding in helping to make the Intensive Teacher Institute a success. As founder and first president of the Phi Delta Kappa chapter, Pascale has aided hundreds of students and graduates. Her research is focused on school redesign and proactive leadership. Currently, she is consulting with the Board of Education and several New York schools on the standards movement and structural reform.
Pascale is the author of “School-Based Learning for Administrators,” and is currently working on a book for meeting teachers’ critical
needs to enhance student performance.
