Admission, Progression, Graduation, and Certification Requirements

This program is for students with prior certification only.  It leads to a 2nd Initial Certification in Early Childhood Education, preparing students to teach in pre-school, kindergarten, and primary classrooms through grade 2.

Students without prior certification who are interested in early childhood education are advised to enroll in the M.S.ED. dual certification program in Childhood/Early Childhood Education.

Courses are scheduled in the late afternoon or evening.   Fieldwork is required for most courses.

Admission Requirements:

 
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • 2.75 minimum undergraduate GPA
  • Certification in Childhood Education or Special Education
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Statement of professional goals
