Applying for Financial Aid 2006-2007 |
|
|
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Renewal FAFSA is the core application that students need to complete to apply for financial aid at the Brooklyn Campus. The FAFSA is available on the Internet (see above link), and electronic filling is the best way to receive a timely and more accurate response. Click “Filling Out a FAFSA” to complete a FAFSA online.
The electronic FAFSA information is required of all students seeking scholarships or grants, federal or state financial aid, tuition remission benefits, etc. All students, regardless of financial circumstances are urged to complete the FAFSA.
All students must use the Brooklyn Campus’ Federal School Code of 004779 on their 2006-2007 FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA in order to have their electronic information sent to the University. If a FAFSA has already been processed without the Brooklyn Campus’ Federal School Code, return to the FAFSA website (www.fafsa.ed.gov) and click “Make Corrections to a Processed FAFSA.”
A PIN (Personal Identification Number) is required to complete the FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA, or to make a correction. It is strongly recommended that all students and at least one parent of dependent students obtain a PIN. To apply for a PIN go to www.pin.ed.gov and click “APPLY FOR PIN.” Continuing students who lost their PIN can apply for a duplicate PIN by clicking on “REQUEST A DUPLICATE PIN” on this same site.
A FAFSA, Renewal FAFSA, or FAFSA Correction, PIN Application, Duplicate PIN Request is not completed until a confirmation number has been received.
2006-2007 Financial Aid Deadline Date:
In order to apply for the maximum financial aid available, continuing students must meet a deadline date of March 17, 2006. This is the deadline date for consideration of campus-based financial aid, which includes Federal SEOG Program, Federal Perkins or Health Professions Student Loans, Federal Work Study/America Reads Program and SDS Awards. Entering first-time students have a rolling deadline date and should check with the Office of Student Financial Services shortly after receiving their admissions notification.
