Blocks

As part of maintaining the integrity of the financial aid packages offered to students, and in complying with federal guidelines, the University has set in place a blocking system that tags the student's record with information regarding problems with academic status, loan default, or prior billing indebtedness. The blocks that have been created appear on the student's record and are visible to the student (via the S.I.S. system), as well as academic and administrative staff.

The following is a listing of some of the most common blocks, and the actions triggered by their appearance on the student's record. More complete information on this blocking system is available from the Registrar's Office:

Default on a campus-based financial aid loan (Federal Perkins or HPL Loan) No further financial aid funding is permitted

Default on a Federal Direct Student Loan or a FFELP Program Loan No further financial aid funding is permitted
W
A Loan Exit Interview has not taken place No diploma may be released until the student complete an Exit Interview(electronic or paper)
B
There is a prior balance owing the University which exceeds $500 No future registration may take place
X
Student has not maintained good academic standing for financial aid purposes No further financial aid funding is permitted
G
Academic Standing Dean's approval is needed before registering
V
Vaccination Proof Pending Registration will be canceled, large fine
