Academic Level:
Grade level determined by the number of accumulated credits. The following academic levels are applicable to undergraduate students:

Freshmen 0 - 29
Sophomore 30 - 59
Junior 60 - 89
Senior 90+

Academic Year:
This is the period during which school is in session, consisting of two semesters totaling at least 30 weeks. The school year typically runs from the beginning of September through the end of May.

Adjusted Gross Income (AGI):
All taxable income is included, less I.R.S. allowable adjustments. This figure appears on the income tax returns provided by the state and federal governments.

AFDC:
The state sponsored Aid to Families with Dependent Children program.

Aid for Part Time Study Program (APTS):
A New York State grant program allocated for undergraduate students who are registered for up to a maximum of 11 credits. Applicants must meet income and New York State residency requirements. Funds are limited and competitive.

America Reads Program:
The America Reads Program is an employment program, which has opened new pathways for outreach to school age children through high quality research based tutoring programs.
