Spring 2008 Alumni Reception

Global College hosted a Friends World Alumni Reception at the Rubin Museum of Art on May 9, 2008 in New York City. The reception was a great success with over 50 attendees, and alumni from each decade of the program. The evening included a guided tour of the museum and time to mingle and reconnect. The Rubin Museum was the perfect backdrop for the event as it is home to a comprehensive collection of art from the Himalayas and surrounding regions.

Friends World Reunion

“On April 4, 2008 nine members of Friends World reunited for an evening of food, fun and reminiscing. It was hosted by Shayne Del Cohen at her home in Oakland, Calif., and attended by Susie Teshima, Kathy McLean, Kathy McEver, Roger Polk, Mark Farmer, Jeff Scoffern, Paul Hoffman, and myself. It was so good to see these people again, after 40 (!!!) years since we all embarked on the amazing journeys and educational experiences that brought us together. We honored those no longer with us on this life's journey, and wove stories of the web of many others still in contact. It gave me the feeling of the enormous value we pioneers received in the early development of Friends World and the obvious love and respect we have for each other and our individual accomplishments to date.”
