Cristiana Kahl Collins is the Associate Director and the Coordinator of Post-Professional Program at the Division of Physical Therapy at Long Island University.  Prior to assuming the Associate Director position, Ms. Collins served as the Clinic Director of the LIU Center for Physical Rehabilitation from its inception in 1996 until the summer of 2007. She is a 1986 graduate of New York University where she also received her Advanced Master Degree in Developmental Disabilities in 1994. She is currently a Doctorate Candidate at Nova Southeastern University where she is pursuing her doctorate degree in physical therapy. Cristiana is a Board Certified Physical Therapist in neurological physical therapy and completed the 6-month PNF Post-Graduate Residency at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vallejo , CA in 2000, focusing on manual skills for treatment of the orthopedic and neurologically involved client. Her clinical experience includes 8 years of inpatient & outpatient neurological rehabilitation followed by 13 years of practice in the outpatient orthopedic setting with focus on manual treatment approaches. In addition to numerous courses on treatment techniques and handling skills for the neurological population, she has had extensive training in manual/osteopathic therapy. Cristiana has also been an Assistant Professor at Long Island University since 1991, a guest lecturer at Touro College and College of Staten Island, and has taught continuing education courses to practicing clinicians in the US and Brasil. As a 'hands-on' clinician, Ms. Collins has found that the combination of her manual assessment and treatment skills and her PNF training provide her with a powerful tool to tap into, and maximize, every client's potential, independent of diagnosis.  As a teacher, Ms. Collins believes that her greatest assets are her clinical experience and expertise and her passion for sharing her knowledge and her clinical skills.
