Transition Doctor of Physical Therapy

The Transition Doctor of Physical Therapy (T-DPT) program offers the essential elements of graduate education for clinicians to enhance their competencies for a challenging health care environment. This is achieved through course choice and accessibility to graduate study that is relevant to the interests of the practitioner and acknowledges professional and clinical experience.

The T-DPT program allows licensed physical therapists holding entry-level bachelor’s or master’s degree to obtain a doctorate of physical therapy. Using the latest patient management models, the T-DPT program augments the knowledge and skills of the practitioner to meet DPT curriculum standards and to equip the clinician with advanced qualifications for providing high-quality and independent physical therapy services.

Advantages of T-DPT Program at the Brooklyn Campus

  • Graduate credit for knowledge and professional experiences of the clinician.
  • Five core courses that ensure competence in changing areas critical to patient management in autonomous practice.
  • Choice of a generalist or specialized approach.
  • Preferred content and competencies outlined by APTA.
  • Evening and weekend classes.
  • Easily accessed by public transportation or car and minutes from Manhattan.
  • Tuition and fees are highly competitive with area private colleges and universities.
