Meal Plan Information
Long Island University is proud to announce that the Aramark Corporation has been contracted to provide food service for the Brooklyn Campus. The Aramark Cooperation has a long history of providing quality food services on college campuses. The meal plan options for resident students now consist of a certain number of meals per week (with a few declining balance dollars). The plan will guarantee resident students a certain number of all-you-can-eat-meals in the Blackbird Cafeteria (only) throughout the school year. The declining balance dollars that are attached to each meal plan can be used to purchase meals in Luntey Commons and/or the North Wing Cafeteria in the Humanities Building. The meal plan options for the 2004-2005 school year are as follows:

 

 

Plan 1 19 meals per week/ $150 flexible dollars $
1,490.00 per semester
Plan 2 14 meals per week/$175 flexible dollars $
1,465.00 per semester
Plan 3 10 meals per week/$190 flexible dollars $
1,335.00 per semester
Plan 4 7 meals per week/$150 flexible dollars $
800.00 per semester


Students assigned to suits and standard rooms are required to take a minimum of 10 meals per week ($1,335). Students assigned to apartments are not required to have a meal plan. Only visiting students and students employed full-time have the option of choosing Plan 4.


Black Bird Cafeteria Hours:

Weekdays 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Weekends 10:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.

The cafeteria is located on the lobby floor of the Residence Hall. There are also two other cafeterias located on campus that resident students can make use of (Luntey Commons and the Humanities Building Cafeteria).
