Job Title: Administrative Assistant to the Provost

Responsiblities:
The Assistant serves as project coordinator for Discovery Day and assists with special events planning. The assistant is also responsible for coordinating office activities, schedules, and helping students with a variety of concerns brought to the Provost’s Office. The assistant reviews and summarizes miscellaneous reports and documents, prepares background document as necessary, locates and compiles information, and formats reports, graphs, tables, records and other sources of information. This position supports and reports directly to the Provost and takes direction from the Office Manager in the Provost’s office.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Two years minimum experience in an administrative support position within academic setting is highly preferred. Excellent typing and administrative skills, good phone skills, superior organizational skills, ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion, ability to manage multiple projects from start to finish, high level of competency with Microsoft Office software, i.e. Publisher, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Word.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is required and a college degree is strongly preferred. Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills are required. In addition to being able to work in a fast paced environment the candidate must be comfortable working under tight deadlines, interacting with students and other department/campus/University personnel. The candidate must be proficient in all computer based applications utilized by the department including creating computer-based spreadsheets and databases when required. The candidate must be a self-starter and be able to identify issues that affect the efficiency and productivity of the office, offer solutions, and implement necessary changes.
