When is Orientation?
There will be six different Orientation dates this year: July 29th, August 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th, and September 2nd. However, please remember that September 2nd is reserved for out of state students only.
Do I have to attend?
Yes! The smartest way to begin your college career is by attending orientation. You will receive important information about the programs and services available at LIU. You will also have the opportunity to meet with Faculty, Advisors, Administrators, and LIU students.
Do I need to sign up?
Yes, as soon as possible, you MUST officially sign up on our website: http://www.brooklyn.liu.edu/orientation/StudentRegistration/stu_reg_form.htm
Please note, students must register for classes prior to signing up for Orientation. If you have any problems with this process, please feel free to call (718) 488-3378 for assistance.
Can I bring family members?
Yes, please feel free to bring a family member or two. Unfortunately, due to space limitations, we cannot accommodate more than two family members.
What if I haven’t registered for classes yet?
Meet with your Academic Advisor right away to register for classes! Students will not be able to participate in Orientation activities until they are registered for classes.
What if I haven’t visited Financial Aid and cleared my bill?
We recommend that you visit Student Financial Services and the Bursar prior to Orientation. But, you should still attend New Student Orientation even if you haven’t cleared your bill yet.
