Dean Stephen M. Gross is a nationally recognized pharmacy educator.  He earned his B.S. in pharmacy from Columbia University and his M.A. and Ed.D. in higher education from Teacher’s College, Columbia University.  Before joining Long Island University, he was one of the youngest deans in the history of Columbia University’s School of Pharmacy.  Ever the renaissance man, in addition to being the Dean of the Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Dean Gross has held the position of University dean of health professions, overseeing health related programs across the University, as well as serving as dean of graduate studies for Richard L. Conolly College and dean of the School of Business on the Brooklyn Campus.

 

Dean Gross has dedicated his career at Long Island University to ensuring that both the Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and the School of Health Professions have kept pace with the needs and demands of a dynamic and ever changing health care system.  He has played a leading role in new program development and curricular changes in pharmacy and allied health.  Dean Gross has served as Chairman of the New York State Board of Pharmacy and sits on scientific and educational advisory boards for several companies and professional organizations.
