Annual Pharmacy Law Day

PURPOSE:
The College of Pharmacy presents its annual update on pharmacy laws and regulations. This seminar, now in its 27th year, is well known to pharmacists in the tristate area. It provides an opportunity to hear from and interact with legal authorities and regulatory officials who are involved with the enactment of enforcement of laws and regulations impacting the profession of pharmacy. Speakers include a member of the New York State Board of Pharmacy; a representative from the Federal Government; an attorney specializing in disciplinary matters and an attorney/community pharmacist.

OBJECTIVES:
At the completion of this program, the participant will be able to: 1. Identify current initiatives of the New York State Board of Pharmacy; 2. Assess the changes in the Medicare Part D drug program; 3. Describe the disciplinary process in New York State; and 4. Identify specific issues with regard to the dispensing of controlled drugs in NY.

Continuing Education Credits The College has assigned 5 hours (0.5 ACUs) for attendance and completion of the program evaluation at this seminar. Statements of continuing pharmacy education credit will be mailed within six weeks of the program.
