It is with pleasure
that I welcome you to the Psychology Department web page of Long Island University’s
Brooklyn campus. Our department offers three programs of academic study. We
offer an undergraduate program leading to the B.A., and two graduate degree
programs: an M.A. in Psychology and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology (APA accredited
program). Our excellent faculty bring substantial clinical and research experience
to the department and are committed to teaching and mentoring student research.
The department
has several research labs that are actively engaged in psychological
research. The Intercultural Institute on Human Development and
Aging, under the direction of Dr. Carol Magai, Dean of Research,
is also affiliated with the department and focuses on psychological
issues related to ethnicity and health.
Located
in downtown Brooklyn, just over the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges,
LIU provides access to a wealth of ethnic diversity, as well as
all of the substantial cultural, scientific, medical and academic
assets found in New York City. It provides an excellent location,
as well as outstanding educational opportunities.
I hope
you will enjoy learning more about our department in these pages.
Should you have any further questions after perusing our website,
please feel free to contact our department or pay us a visit.
