Specialization courses provide students with an opportunity to examine a specific management function or area of application in more depth. Students select either PUBLIC or HEALTH ADMINISTRATION, and within those two areas, sub-specialties may be pursued through the selection of four courses as shown below. Specialization courses have the prefix “PM”. In two fields (Gerontology and Non-Profit Management), a student may complete an advanced certificate by taking the combination of courses shown. Other specializations can be developed in consultation with a faculty advisor from the broad spectrum of courses available in the Program and School, as well as courses available across the campus. Students are reminded that specialization courses are not scheduled as frequently as required courses, so they should be taken when they are available even if all core courses have not been completed.
