Students may major with a concentration in Sociology or
Anthropology.
Students must complete Sociology
3 and Anthropology 4 or 5 before taking advanced major courses.
Sociology/Anthropology majors must also successfully complete
24 credits of advanced work in Sociology or Anthropology,
six credits of advanced work in 100-level or higher courses
in other social sciences as a distribution, and one course
from the Social Science 200 series in the senior year. The
24 credits must include Sociology 111 and
Anthropology 137. Sociology 116 is required for students
with a Sociology concentration; Anthropology 117 is required
for students with an Anthropology concentration.
Department Requirements 24 cr.
A total of 24 credits in upper division Sociology and Anthropology
is required, including Sociology/ Anthropology 111, Anthropology
137 and Sociology/ Anthropology 190. Sociology 116; Anthropology
concentration must include Anthropology 117.
Social Science 200 series 3 cr.
