Summer Institute-Retest Results
The schedule below will tell you when your final Placement Examination results will be available.
Your exam will be read by two to three highly-experienced, knowledgeable readers who regularly teach LIU English composition courses. Once the Testing Center has the results of this reading, we will share the results with your English Summer Institute instructor. At that time, your instructor might ask that a few Placement results be reconsidered. This appeal process will take approximately three days.
You will need to call the Testing Center at (718) 488-1392 for your results on the date listed below. Or, you can email Nicole.Sanchez@liu.edu or wdonahue@liu.edu on or after the date listed below. Please specify that you have taken the exam in the English Summer Institute, list your complete name as it appears on the Placement Exam, and tell us the name of your instructor. This will enable us to locate your test results quickly.
If you have placed into a higher English class, you will need to go to your advisor, drop your old class, and add the new English class. Your advisor is experienced in this process and will be happy to guide you through it. It is important to do this as soon as possible after you have obtained your Placement Examination results.
If you have stayed in the same class, that's ok—because you will have gained many important skills and will enter your class as a stronger student, more ready for the exciting challenges of your first semester at LIU.
