Kun-Yang Lin and Dancers Soar

Brooklyn, N.Y. - A diverse collective of dancers committed to blending
Asian traditions with popular culture and postmodern dance, Kun-Yang
Lin and Dancers will perform at Long Island University's Brooklyn
Campus on Wednesday, October 2 at the Triangle Theater.
Part of the Dance Department's "Afternoons at LIU" concert
series, the performance takes place at noon and is free and open to
the public.
Noted for its "craft and spirituality" by The New York
Times, the company debuted in 1997 at the Merce Cunningham Studio.
Since then, it has performed in various venues, including the Theater
of the National Institute of the Arts in Taiwan, DanceNow Festival
at the Joyce Soho, the 92nd Street Y, the Taipei Theater at Rockefeller
Center and St. Mark's Church.
A native of Taiwan, Kun-Yang Lin is a gifted choreographer and teacher.
His work has been presented by several institutions, among them Thirty
Dance Taipei, Transitions Dance Company in London, the University
of Pennsylvania Museum, the American Theatre of Actors, and Lincoln
Center outdoor festival. Lin has performed with the Martha Graham
Dance Company, Anna Sokolow's Players Project, Jennifer Muller/The
Works, and Janis Brenner and Dancers. He is also a leading dancer,
choreographer, and associate artistic director for the Mary Anthony
Dance Theatre.
Seating for the performance is on a first-come, first-served
