Jazz Concerts Give Cheer to Autumn Days

Brooklyn, N.Y. - Top names in jazz are sure to soothe the souls
of music fans at a series of jazz concerts and clinics presented this
fall by the Music Department of Long Island University's Brooklyn
Campus.
Among the highlights are appearances by base player Gerald Cannon,
pianist Kenny Barron and drummer Lenny White at workshops that
take place in the Humanities Building Conference Hall. All events
are open to the public free of charge.

In addition to a B.A. in traditional studies, the Music Department
offers a B.F.A. degree in Jazz Studies. Students may study privately
with professionals off-campus for credit. The program can be tailored
to suit students' needs with either a minor or double major in
other fields.
