Brooklyn, N.Y. – Long Island University's Brooklyn Campus will be the site of a dance extravaganza offering a richly varied program of works from traditional modern to post-modern styles.

Presented by the Campus's Dance Department, the sixth annual concert features the works of faculty and their professional colleagues on Thursday, November 21, and Friday, November 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Triangle Theater.

Clare Byrne will perform two solos, sure and somewhere, set to the music of Aretha Franklin, "exploring ecstatic spirituality through movement." Her work has been shown at the Joyce Soho, the New York International Fringe Festival, The Brooklyn Arts Exchange, Dancespace Project's Food For Thought series, P.S. 122's Avantgardarama, The Flea Theater and Dixon Place.
Debra Jo Hughes will perform her own work, a contemporary piece that incorporates ballet, modern and jazz dance techniques and influences. Enjoying a varied career as a ballet dancer and commercial jazz dancer working in theater, film and television, she has performed with the Capital City Ballet and Ballet Theatre International.

Colleen Thomas will present AWAKESWELL, a personal reflection on the experience and stages of loss, and hold your breath/I'll be right there, a voyeuristic journey of two women and their baggage. She has danced with the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, Bebe Miller Company, Nina Weiner Dance Company, Donald Byrd/The Group, the Kevin Wynn Collection, Sung Su Ahn and Miami Ballet, among others. She currently performs with Bill Young and Dancers and has co-choreographed numerous projects.
