| Brooklyn, N.Y. Mary Herbert and Robert Spector, English
professors at Long Island Universitys Brooklyn Campus who have
given joint poetry readings in several different Brooklyn venues,
have been invited to do so once again.
Mary Herbert and Robert Spector will read from their recently
published works of poetry on Thursday, February 20, from 6:00 to
8:00 p.m., at Long Island Universitys Brooklyn Campus, 1 University
Plaza, Health Sciences Building, Room HS 107. The event is free
and open to the public.
Spector has been a member of the LIU English Department faculty
for 54 years and is also co-coordinator of the Brooklyn Campuss
Humanities Division. Herbert is an adjunct associate professor and
has taught at the University since 1994. Both are Brooklyn residents.
Both poets will read from their most recently published poetry
books, Spector from "Mélange à Deux"
and "Natures Bounty in Brooklyn," both published
by Scroll Publications; and Herbert from "Succulent Confessions,"
published by Ginninderra Press in Australia, and "Coasts,"
published by Meadow Geese Press in Massachusetts. The readings
will be followed by question-and-answer sessions and book signings.
