Poets at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus Play a Return Engagement

Brooklyn, N.Y. — Mary Herbert and Robert Spector, English professors at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus who have given joint poetry readings in several different Brooklyn venues, have been invited to do so once again.

Mary Herbert and Robert Spector will read from their recently published works of poetry on Thursday, February 20, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Long Island University’s Brooklyn Campus, 1 University Plaza, Health Sciences Building, Room HS 107. The event is free and open to the public.

Spector has been a member of the LIU English Department faculty for 54 years and is also co-coordinator of the Brooklyn Campus’s Humanities Division. Herbert is an adjunct associate professor and has taught at the University since 1994. Both are Brooklyn residents.

Both poets will read from their most recently published poetry books, Spector from "Mélange à Deux" and "Nature’s Bounty in Brooklyn," both published by Scroll Publications; and Herbert from "Succulent Confessions," published by Ginninderra Press in Australia, and "Coasts," published by Meadow Geese Press in Massachusetts. The readings will be followed by question-and-answer sessions and book signings. For more information, call 718-488-1050.
